Salt Manufacturing Plant

Sparkling pure white salt crystals

Everyone is invited to observe the processes involved in salt-making, performed by our experienced artisans at our manufacturing plant.
Produced by slowly simmering seawater over a wood fire, our salt contains a small amount of bittern, which enhances the sweetness of the salt even more. Adjacent to the manufacturing plant is a salt museum featuring enormous salt rocks, pictures showing the salt-making landscape of Okinawa during the post-war years and informative panels and pictures about a variety of salt from all over the world. Admission to the museum is free.
